KUNDLI SHASTRA

Why most predictions made by many astrologers fail :
Many a time astrological predictions may go wrong due to an error in the time of birth given by the client. We always assume that the birth time noted at the hospital is correct. You will be surprised to know that most maternity homes specially deploy someone to note the time of childbirth. This is because in the labour room, at the time when the patient is taken for delivery, every person is worried only about the patient's safe delivery and during these moments of anxiety, no one is really much bothered about noting the accurate time of birth which is extremely useful for astrological reasons.

In the olden times, this was followed by the Raajgharanas and there were responsible people deployed to note the time of birth accurately. Of course there are controversies about the noting of the time of birth. Different masters have different opinions about the birth time. Some say that the first cry of the child is to be considered as the time of childbirth, some sages opine that the time when the child's natal cord is cut is to be considered. Others say that when the child is totally out of the mother's womb, that point of time must be considered as the time of birth.

Logically, the moment when the child is totally out of the mother's womb must be considered as the time of birth because it is only when the child is out of the mother's womb that the cosmic rays start affecting the child independently. And generally, this time is considered as the accurate time of birth for astrological purposes.

In astrology, the progress chart is made on the basis of micro second accuracy whereas these controversies can give difference in time not in seconds but in minutes. In this case there will not be any accuracy in the predictions. In Vedic astrology, there is a provision to correct the errors in recording of the time of birth, but sometimes this fails due to improper analysis.

Our great sages were very knowledgeable, but they failed to reach a common conclusion on several issues. For example, some sages consider a particular combination of planets to be beneficial, while others may consider the combination malefic. Anyone who has knowledge of astrology can check the placement of Venus in 6th house and Jupiter in 8th house either in its own house or exalted. There is great contradiction in the predictions.

If you go through the Uttar Kalamrit, Shri Kali Das states that Jupiter in 8th house - in own house is beneficial whereas others say that it is malefic. There are numerous examples of contradictions about the views of ancient masters. It is really difficult for any learned person to apply such contradictory principles for predicting and if someone follows them without cross checking with different individuals' lives, it leads to faulty predictions.

There are thousands of combinations of planets and a small combinational change or difference can bring about huge differences in the predictions. If one is totally dependent on astrological calculations and does not take the help of other allied sciences then there is maximum chance of missing vital points that could create errors in the predictions. To make a correct prediction, one should take the help of palmistry to cross check characteristic traits of the native, which can help in establishing any error in birth time, etc. It is of great help in making predictions if one has knowledge of Psychology, Logic, and Philosophy. Otherwise there is no guarantee of correct predictions.

Astrology is a very ancient science and during the time when it was compiled, the social, geographical, economical and religious backgrounds were very different. Therefore, if any astrologer predicts about the native without having proper logic, without understanding the background of the native and without analysing the changes over thousands of years since this science was written, then again there are possibilities of blunders in the predictions.

In the olden days, several marriages were permitted, but now legal rules forbid it. Even though the 7th house has strong indications of more than one happy marriage, in the present scenario it will not be a legal marriage and may be a strong extra marital relationship. This is because as per the Hindu marriage act, law does not permit remarriage without death or divorce of the partner. Also, during the olden days, the social structure was not conducive for extra marital relations. However, in today's industrialised world, with the loss of morality especially in urban areas like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai etc., there are increased chances of extra marital relations as no one has the time to bother about what is happening in other people's lives and also because of the fact that now women are financially independent and no more confined to the four walls of their homes.

Again, for any astrologer, it is difficult to predict the exact number and gender of children in the present age, as many follow different family planning methods and also may have many partners for sexual relationship. One has to be very analytical and careful in predicting about the child otherwise the prediction will fail.

The rate of divorce has drastically increased because now women do not like to lead a life of dependence due to financial independency, literacy, social changes and existing laws. Many marriages are broken for the smallest of reasons. This was not possible in the olden times. In the past, husband and wife both made a lot of compromise for a successful married life, but now both are reluctant to follow the adage 'till death do us apart’. In the western countries, divorce rates are the highest because men and women both have equal status in society and women have no restrictions in the real sense. But in the underdeveloped and developing countries, divorce rates are still less because they follow ancient teachings and women are still dependent on men. Hence, the same combinations of planets may give different results to the native having different backgrounds and belonging to different countries. Hence, without proper analysis and insight, the predictions made for married life may go wrong.

It is very common to see that many astrologers predict about famous personalities only on the basis of their date of birth. The same date of birth may belong to different people, among them one may be a leader, the other may be a factory worker and it is also possible that the third may be a criminal. The exact time of birth and the latitude and longitude of the place gives one's individual chart and only that can give correct insight into anyone's life. A general chart can only predict general facts. It is very wrong to make predictions without having proper individual charts as there are major chances of wrong predictions.

There is a chance to have a very normal married life even though there are strong indications of more than one marriage, and it is much more possible when the woman has physical and mental intimacy with someone before or after the marriage. Hence, one should understand the lifestyle of the woman and her philosophy of life. Otherwise again, there is chance of making wrong predictions.

Astrology is not just a science, but beyond science and can be easily learnt by anyone who has a normal I.Q. level. But it does need strong intuitive power to predict very accurately. Astrologers must be pious, kind-hearted, humble and having strong desire to help people. Regular practice of meditation and Pranayama gives more insight and that can help an astrologer to reserve a place in people's hearts. If someone is lacking all these qualities and practices, then there is a sure chance of wrong predictions being made even though he may be learned.
Vastushastra

Vastu Shastra is an ancient science which helps one get natural benefits freely offered by the five basic elements of the universe in which we all live in. These 5 basic elements are akash (sky), prithvi (earth), agni (fire) and vayu (wind).

Vastu Shastra can be applied by maintaining harmony with these basic elements of nature.

One may sometimes feel that inspite of having all the required resources for achieving success in the workplace one is not getting the desired and deserved results and it should not be a surprise to oneself that it could be due to the fact that either one’s office or factory is not planned according to the science of Vastu Shastra.

Similarly, one might feel that the wheel of family life is not moving smoothly and there is lack of peace, harmony, affection and well being in one's family. One should get the architecture of his house examined and if need be, modified as per Vastu Shastra. One is bound to expect good results and well being gradually and steadily.

Useful Tips on Vastu :

  1. The main entrance should be in the east or north but it should not be in front of the compound wall.
  2. The wall of the house in the north-eastern side should have minimum height.
  3. If the wall of the house in the East is tall, it stalls the entry of prosperity, the Goddess Laxmi, into the house. Therefore, it should be low in height.
  4. The southern side of the house should be as tall and heavy as possible. In any room of the house, the beam or column should not cross the centre.
  5. The terrace or balcony should be either in the east or the north.
  6. A well, a pole or a temple should not exist in front of the main entrance of the house.
  7. The slope of the house should be towards east, north or north-east. Similarly, the slope of the plinth also should be towards east, north or north-east.
  8. The height of the plinth should be maximum in the direction of south-west.
  9. The main entrance of the house should not be in front of that of the opposite house.
  10. The house should be equipped with a protective wall.
  11. The cupboard in the wall should be in the southern or western part of the house.
  12. The upper storeys of the house should be constructed on the southern or western part.
  13. You should never keep an open mirror in the bedroom. Mirrors should be covered with a curtain.
  14. It is preferable to have two outgoing doors in the house, preferably one in the north and the other in the east. The same is applicable for the boundary gate.
  15. Boundary walls :
    1. Eastern wall should be lowest.
    2. Southern wall should be high and thick.
    3. Western wall should be lesser than the southern wall.
    4. Northern wall should be bigger than the eastern wall.
  16. Never sleep or sit under the beam or pillar.
  17. Cooking direction should be towards the east and the kitchen should be towards south-east direction.
Underground tank should be built in the north-east direction.
Gems

Fascinating World of Gems and its Miracles
By Pandit Promod K. Nandkishore Sharma : Astrologer, Palmist, Gemmologist and Vastu consultant

Gems have been in existence   since the creation of the Earth. Gems are mentioned in the ancient Indian texts - the Vedas and the Puranas. There is mention of a gem called Kaustubha Mani, which was found after churning of the sea ( samundra manthan ) by the devas and the daanavas. Lord Krishna had Vaijayantimaala, which was an extremely rare gem. There are many stories about the creation of gems in the Puranas

Classification of gems :
Vanaspatik (from plant), Jaivik (from creature) and Khanij (from mines). In Vanaspatik, the main gem is Amber ;  in Jaivik : Corals, Pearls etc.;  and the rest of the gems fall in the Khanij category.
The above mentioned are natural gems. But besides natural gems, synthetic (cultured), artificial, and imitation gems are also available.

How do gems affect our lives ?
This is a very frequently asked question. The answer is very simple and logical : gems work like a regulator. The inappropriate rays from the planets are either absorbed or reflected off by the gems as per individual needs. The absorbed rays go to the sensing fluids in the brain and in the chakras and try to create a harmonious state and thus our thinking and other senses are normalized. When the mind gets balanced then we function properly and can succeed in our endeavours.

Gems have a natural power to attract you. If you are given mixed trays of natural and artificial gems of various qualities and asked to select the good gems, then, there is maximum chance that you will choose the real one of better quality from the mixed lot even if you may not be a gemologist.

Many countries have a huge business in making synthetic copies of real gems. Countries like Thailand etc., have sophisticated technology to make synthetic gems and colour lighter colour gems into darker coloured ones to earn a higher price. The lighter coloured gems are electronically treated and these colours are long lasting, but obviously astrologically, the effects cannot be the same.

Can synthetic gems replace real gems?
There was discussion worldwide among astrologers as to whether synthetic gems can be used in place of real ones. The majority voted against it. Every gem represents its own planet and has the power to affect every living creature. Unlike synthetic gems, natural gems are formed in the earth and this takes thousands of years. In this process of formation, the gems have ample time to absorb the rays from the respective planets and thus they get fully charged to represent the individual planet. Synthetic gems are made in the laboratory which take some days or some months only and have no power to represent the individual planets except with respect to the colours and chemical composition.

If you test the synthetic gems in a lab, then you will get all the parameters like hardness, specific gravity, refractive index etc., almost similar to the real gems. Only an expert's visual observation and lab test parameters can reveal the authenticity of the gems to the gemmologist. The prominent signs which are found in synthetic gems are in the form of air bubbles, curve lines, unusual cleanness (absence of natural inclusions) and faceting of gems, etc.

Are you ready to cross check the power of gems?
If you are lucky to have a good quality of Ruby of a bigger size, i.e. 50 carats and above, put it in a closed lotus flower. It will try to open or open up even in the absence of the Sun, because Ruby represents the Sun.

Similarly you can take a Red Coral and immerse it in blood for a night, you will see that Coral has absorbed the blood, because Mars has an affinity for blood.

Why dowsing of gems is important ?
In gems, negative or positive charges are found. The process of dowsing differentiates between negative and positive energy. Negatively charged gems affect you adversely. The suitable example is that of the ill-fated diamond "Kohinoor". The dowsing must be done in an auspicious muhurta by an expert dowser who has a spiritual inclination.

Can we believe a traditional gems dealer for quality? In Kolkata, one foreigner approached a renowned gems dealer for distress sale of his expensive diamond. His story seemed very convincing and the fake diamond looked like a real one. The traditional expert's eye was cheated. The reality that it was a fake came to be known only after a lab test. It was a synthetic diamond, which was purchased for half the price of the original. There have been many jewellers who have been swindled.

This is to reinforce that a lab test is equally important to check the authenticity of the gem.

Religion and gems
It is a known fact that ancient Indian idols of Gods and Goddesses are often smuggled to other countries for a huge profit. One reason is of course, their archaeological importance and the other is that many of these ancient idols have hidden gems in them. These were planted in them at the time of making them. The gems were put in the idols so that those visiting the temples would get the benefic rays of these gems while sitting, standing or prostrating in front of the idols and praying. Beside their spiritual power, gems neutralize the evil effects of malefic planets. To crosscheck this fact, you can take the examples of the idols of  Lord Balaji of Tirupati and in Pune, Dagaduseth Ganpati. Whosoever visits these places always finds positive results due to the blessings of the Gods and the gems in the temple in the form of the idol's ornaments.
Another example is that those who deal in gems almost always have a flourishing life and business. This is again due to the beneficial effects of the gems.

Why gems are very suitable remedies in the present time ?
As we are advancing in the technological field, our life is becoming more mechanical and busy. Very few have the time to chant mantras with the proper method or concentration. Even other remedies like fasting and worshipping may not suit many people's routines. But one can certainly ( without much efforts ) wear an ornament studded with gems for personal benefits. Gems keep affecting you without your knowledge while they are constantly touching your skin.

Care and maintenance of rings and ornaments :
  1. Ensure that you are wearing the correct ring size. It should be neither tight nor loose. If it is loose, then there is chance of falling off. Do not wrap a thread to make the loose ring tight because doing so is not hygienic.
  2. From time to time, clean the ring with detergent and a  brush. You can apply a little toothpaste and rub. It will shine. Thus you can improve the look of the ring and protect yourself from bacteria.
  3. If you are wearing natural Pearl and Fed Coral, take extra precaution and protect it from strong detergent and chemicals, otherwise the lustre of the gems will be affected.
  4. If you are wearing gems for astrological reasons then do not remove it frequently and never keep aside for a long duration.

General hints for buying gems :
Most gems are costly and above all your time is precious especially when you are wearing gems for astrological reasons. Suppose you buy and wear synthetic or duplicate gems, it will not have any beneficial effect and you will lose your valuable time and hard earned money.

Here are some tips which may help you in buying genuine gems:

  1. Always buy the gems from known persons or from a very reputed dealer who stands for quality. Never buy gems in religious places or from the footpath / pavement.
  2. If you happen to find inclusion-free precious stones, then get it checked from a reputed lab. This kind of a clean and clear stone could be a fake.
  3. In business, no one does charity. Therefore, do not trust the dealer blindly and get the gem double checked and certified, especially if someone is selling the gem at a price lesser than the regular cost.
  4. Never purchase Basara Pearl without a test certificate. It should be in good shape and have a higher weight.
  5. You must be very careful in purchasing studded jewellery as you cannot know the actual colour and quality of the gems. There is a chance that some defect may be hidden below the metal. The colour of a diamond cannot be judged whilst embedded in studded jewellery.
  6. Avoid buying gems from a person who is selling in distress.
Avoid using the gems used by others because the bad auras absorbed from the previous owner may have an ill-effect on you.
